Historically Low Medicare Advantage Premiums for 2021

Trump Administration Announces Historically Low Medicare Advantage Premiums ahead of the 2021 Annual Enrollment Period.

Ahead of the annual Medicare Open Enrollment, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced that average 2021 premiums for Medicare Advantage plans are expected to decline 34.2 percent from 2017 while plan choice, benefits, and enrollment continue to increase. The Medicare Advantage average monthly premium will be the lowest in 14 years for the over 26 million Medicare beneficiaries projected to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan. Nationally, average MA premiums had been reduced by 11% for 2021 compared to 2020. The state of Texas followed by Hawaii reported the most material increase in the number of plan options available in the state.

Austin 60 Strong Calendar: Profiles of aging with confidence and grace

Dr. Kevin Spencer, Texas Medical Director for agilon health, and Lisa Kurek, an Austin 60 Strong Ambassador, were interviewed on the morning show at KEYE-TV, the CBS affiliate in Austin, about the Austin 60 Strong program.  The public service initiative was the brainchild of agilon health launched in partnership with physician groups throughout the country.  The 60 Strong Ambassadors have overcome adversity and are spreading the word about good health and the importance of annual exams and regular screenings to other seniors.

Connected Senior Care Advantage

Connected Senior Care Advantage (CSCA), a comprehensive Medicare Advantage program that is a collaboration between Austin Regional Clinic (ARC) and Premier Family Physicians, was launched with help from some very special VIPs. The inspirational Austin 60 Strong Ambassadors, who were chosen to appear on a 2019 calendar featuring Austin-area events and activities, were on hand for the kick-off event. The Ambassadors, who have overcome adversity and battled health conditions, participated in an exclusive calendar cover photo shoot.  Dr. Kevin Spencer, Medical Director of CSCA, and Dr. Anas Daghestani, CEO of ARC, were there to meet the calendar winners and discuss CSCA.
